Dearest Friends and Virtual Family,
While many of us are worrying about COVID, our jobs, tending to the children, or planning our next vacation, Elijah is in the fight for his life. Something so serious that it has taken months to put thoughts to words here.
Elijah has been battling an aggressive (and extremely painful) esophageal cancer for almost a year. Chemo and radiation have made doing even the simplest tasks difficult for him, like taking care of his house or walking to the mailbox. He has also been on a feeding tube for many months, as he is unable to eat normally. Sadly, the cancer has spread, and he needs to undergo more treatment.
Battling this aggressive form of cancer has made it virtually impossible for Elijah to keep up with bills and household maintenance. Sandy Kellett, Elijah’s mother, who has lived in our Fairfield Iowa community for many years, has been working tirelessly to cover all the expenses, but it has become increasingly overwhelming for her to handle.
To honor his wishes to receive full time care at home, we have created this fundraiser to come up with enough money to cover all household expenses and property taxes, hotel and transportation costs (oncology clinic is in an adjacent county), and to have full time care at home in Lake County, CA with his precious kitty by his side.
Elijah is one of the kindest, most selfless people we know. He is also a very private person and mostly tends to share with people in very intimate settings. So, he would be quite annoyed seeing something like this, but now is not the time to worry about such trivial matters. It is time to step in and help in whatever way possible.
As an act of all our love, please consider donating and sharing our GoFundMe page. We will pass on any messages that you write to him directly, use every single penny for his care and wellbeing and to the care of his precious meow.
Let us not only help Elijah financially in this moment of time, but also send our most pure love and vibration to heal. Trust me, he will feel it.
Thank you in advance for any and every donation, thought and prayer.
