Elias Rodriguez is only a few weeks old, but he's got a resilient will to live. He just needs some help from a few good people...
Little Elias was born prematurely and suffers from a potentially life-threatening heart condition. To further complicate matters, Elias was born just before Hurricane Maria made landfall in his native Puerto Rico. Shortly after the storm passed, Elias was by airlifted by medical ambulance to the US for treatment at Miami Children's Hospital. He needs surgery to correct a coarctation of the aorta.
Elias was accompanied to Miami by his mother, Barbara. Barbara left her 7-year-old son with her husband in the chaos that ensues in Puerto Rico to seek the care her newborn so desperately needs. By all accounts, she is a kind and genuine person and seeks no pity. Elias and his family need financial support for the lengthy medical treatment and recovery ahead.
My aunt, Elizabeth Bernal is lending support to Barbara and Elias through her church. Although Barbara is grateful to receive snacks and blankets, what she really needs (but isn't asking for on her own) is monetary support. Join me and support good people in need.
