Currently, I am in my last semester of nursing school at Weimar College, a private school in California that is service-oriented and mission-minded. I am needing to pay the amount ($27,500) to be able to graduate on May 21, 2017.
The impetus for my decision to study nursing was social since several of my friends were headed in that same direction. It was further fueled when, in the middle of my first semester of pre-nursing, my mother died of medical malpractice in Florida. I dropped out of college and stayed home to help my family. My sister and brother were 9 and 7 years old when she passed away.
From there my family and I got trained in massage and hydrotherapy, in herbs and mission work with the hopes of using this knowledge to help others. Eventually the Lord led us to Weimar, where I was convicted to pursue nursing once again. Whereas the initial motivation for choosing nursing in high school were the prospects of financial stability and social status, today I see how as a nurse I can be a blessing to other families and help promote life in abundance.
My father, Daniel, is a full-time missionary in Venezuela, a country torn apart by poverty and social injustices. Currently, my siblings are doing extremely well. My sister, Danielle, is getting trained to become a Medical Assistant and has aspirations of also pursuing nursing as a career choice. My brother, Elisha, is a freshman in high school. I'm extremely proud of the individuals that they are becoming and it is my desire to help them through school once I graduate. By helping me, you would be helping relieve the pressures on my father, as well as putting the hopes and dreams of his children within their grasp.
Tuition is roughly $27,000 a year at Weimar College, and I am still in debt to the school from the previous year. I've only been readmitted to the school because of the generosity of others and by the mercies of God. I may not be able to repay you in kind, but I pray that God may multiply your resources and provide for all your needs.
