ELIAS NEEDS A WHEELCHAIR VAN FOR HIS DAUGHTER

We are putting this fundraiser together for our fellow CPM employee and Seven Bridges team member Elias and his family. His daughter, Isabel was a typical healthy newborn. When she turned two years old she began to experience difficulty eating. Isabel was misdiagnosed for three long years as her overall condition slowly deteriorated. When Isabel was five she was hospitalized in critical condition and spent many months in the hospital. This was an extremely difficult time for Elias and his family. He continued to show up to work at Seven Bridges and perform his duties with a smile that masked the fear and devastation his family was experiencing about his daughter's condition. Isabel was eventually diagnosed with Transcarbamylase Deficiency (OTC Deficiency). This diagnosis means that she will never return to the child they knew before. She has an eating tube, she is unable to walk, and is only able to move her eyes. She does not speak. Her mother is unable to work as Isabel requires full time care. It is extremely difficult for her parents to transport their beloved child to doctor's appointments as they do not have a wheelchair accessible vehicle. She requires multiple appointments weekly and the family does not have the required transportation to get her to these appointments.

They must rely on a service to get her back and forth and the service has become unreliable and important appointments have been missed. We are reaching out to you to ask for your support to help Elias and his wife purchase a wheelchair accessible van to transport their daughter. Providing a wheelchair van to this family will give them an opportunity to provide Isabel with the mobility not only to attend her doctor's appointments, but to go out with her family, and experience the world around her as other children do. Elias has given himself to CPM & the Seven Bridges community even when he his family were at their lowest. Please consider donating to provide Isabel with a wheelchair van.
