It is with great sadness and heavy heart that we share the untimely and unexpected death of our beloved brother Elias Tewolde on August 9, 2022.

Elias Fessha Tewolde was born on October 9, 1998, to his father Fessha Tewolde, and his mother Belaynesh Gebre in Addis Abeba, Ethiopia. Elias moved to Chicago, USA in 2001 when he was just 3 years old and relocated to Denver, Colorado two years later. Elias attended Robert William Elementary and South High School and enrolled at CU Boulder after graduating high school.

Elias was a kind and generous soul. You felt his warmth and kindness at hello. Elias was just fun-loving and full of life and relished every opportunity to dance and laugh with those he loved.

Elias was deeply curious and loved learning. He was an avid reader who sought to broaden his understanding of the world that surrounded him. He was a real knowledge seeker and his natural intelligence radiated every time he opened his mouth.

Elias was a proud, protective, and supportive older brother to Lidia and Joshua Tewolde. He was a supportive son who made his parents very proud. He was a kind and loving soul adored by his family and friends.

Elias also loved his larger Denver community. He gave himself to many causes selflessly. Being part of something big was very important to him. His untimely and shocking passing has robbed this community of a bright young man with limitless potential and promise. May his soul rest in peace.

We are starting this go fund me to help with funeral costs. Any extra beyond funeral costs will be going directly to his mother to help alleviate some of the financial hardship of losing Elias.
