Es con profundo pesar que notificamos la transición de nuestro querido hermano, amigo, y compañero de lucha, Elias Cabrera.

Centro Cultural Techantit y el pueblo Indigena a perdido físicamente a un pilar fundamental en la lucha del pueblo Indígena, pero su espíritu de lucha y acompañamiento estará con nosotros cada dia.

Elias cambio las vidas de muchos, nos hizo reír, cantar, bailar, y llorar. Sus poesías y sus cantos de solidaridad y resistencia nos hacían reflexionar. Elias siempre nos animaba a seguir en la lucha por las abuelas y abuelos de Nahuizalco. Hay momentos en que no queriamos continuar esta lucha, pero el llegaba siempre para animarnos y para escribir lo que el llamaba “un proyectito” para apoyar a las abuelas y abuelos. Elias tenia un amor inmenso por las abuelas y abuelos de Nahuizalco.

En muchas ocaciones, el colaboro para apoyar al Tata Policarpo Chaj y también los esfuerzos de Tata Miguel Amaya. El participo y presento sus ideas en favor de las comunidades Indigenas de El Salvador. Porque el, ante todo y tod@s era: "El Comandante Lenca"

Su musica de reflexión incluyo un canto al Rio Sensunapan, un canto a las abuelas y abuelos, cantos a la madre tierra y el agua, y poesía que el llamaba de rebeldía y protesta en favor de los pueblos Indígenas. Sus cantos de hip-hop se escucharon en las Naciones Unidas y en las presentaciones en diferentes venues en favor de los pueblos Indigenas.

It is with deep regret that we announce the transition of our dear brother, friend and compañero de lucha, Elias Cabrera.

Centro Cultural Techantit and the Indigenous community has physically lost a fundamental pillar in the struggle of the Indigenous people, but his fighting spirit will be with us every day.

Elias changed the lives of many, made us laugh, sing, dance, and cry. His poetry and his songs of solidarity and resistance made us reflect. Elias always encouraged us to continue in the fight for the grandmothers and grandfathers of Nahuizalco. There are times when we did not want to continue this fight, but he always came to encourage us and to write what he called "a little project" to support grandmothers and grandfathers. Elias had an immense love for the grandmothers and grandfathers of Nahuizalco.

On many occasions, he collaborated to support Tata Policarpo Chaj and the efforts of Tata Miguel Amaya as well. He participated and presented his ideas in favor of the Indigenous communities of El Salvador. Because he, above all and everyone, was: "El Comandante Lenca"

His reflective music includes a song to the Sensunapan River, a song to grandmothers and grandfathers, songs to Mother Earth and water, and poetry that he called rebellion and protest in favor of Indigenous peoples.
