Eleven needs her Dad

Donation protected

At the age of 30 my amazing courageous brother Paul had an accident at the River from a rope swing and became a quadriplegic. He survived and didn’t allow himself to be stuck in the darkness of the injury. With motivation, drive and a fantastic support team he became independent and self driven.
Life doesn’t stop because your in a wheelchair, you still have all the dreams that us uprights have - marriage, children and a fulfilling life
Paul made the transition from being a solo quadriplegic to a husband and a father
Paul’s sperm had been harvested after the accident so that maybe one day he could be the father of a child  Paul met the mother of his child, Jess and love blossomed and the decision was made to use the 21 year old sperm  and on 1st January 2017 Eleven Parker McKenzie was born and life was complete in rural Darwin
Paul has volunteered for years within the disability sector to assist others and in particular work with the NDS in the Northern Territory traveling and speaking with the aboriginal communities to evolve programs to assist disability with their own communities and get thedisabled to assist others by sharing their livedexperiences
Two weeks ago my brother became gravely unwell and was rushed to hospital,   infections are the biggest risk sitting in a wheelchair the majority of the day  Paul had the feared and dangerous infection that he had been so careful not to get
The infection has claimed his bowel , bottom ,buttocks, groin area and is still active but being controlled with surgery and antibiotics
Paul has been transferred from Darwin Hospital to the Austin Hospital in Melbourne to undergo radical wound care, skin grafts and reconstruction of his bottom to enable him to again sit in his wheelchair and he independent aprocess that will take 10-12 months
This is not just a health crisis BUT a huge financial crisis.
I want to help raise money so his family can be reunited in Melbourne and he can have the strength of his wife, Jess and his daughter Eleven with him everyday to remind him why thefight must go on
I want to raise funds to find adequate rental of a place to call home in Melbourne  somewhere they can watch the water and sit on a verandah and dream of going home
Please help me to reunite the family and give courage for the huge commitment to independence
