Hello, I’m Dot Withers - a trained Science teacher, and someone who’s passionate about supporting young people, building their confidence, and helping them believe in their own abilities. I truly believe every young person can achieve if they’re given the right support.

Elevate Science is a project created to help young people in and around the Rayners Lane Estate who would not normally have access to private tuition. We’ve been running for just under a year, and in that time we’ve seen incredible growth in confidence, self-esteem, and scientific understanding as we work through tricky concepts and practise exam questions together.

To keep offering this tuition for free, we need additional funding. The current climate for grant fundraising is incredibly tough, and despite our best efforts we’ve been unsuccessful in securing support. So… I’ve decided to take matters into my own hands (or feet!).

I’m running a half marathon on Sunday 1st February – AAAAHHHHHH!!!

I’ve never run further than 5km (I manage a parkrun about 3 or 4 times a year!) and I really, truly hate being cold. But I’m doing this because the young people deserve this and your support will make a real difference.

What your donation will support:

£10 will pay for 1 young person to receive 1 hour of support.

But any amount helps!
