In January we lost a beloved member of our community, Elena Muñoz.

Elena began showing in Pima County at the age of 9. She showed chickens and goats with Sahuarita 4-H. This year she was planning on showing her goat she had bred through Cienega FFA. Elena was a bright light in everyone’s life, bringing joy to those she’d just met and those who had known her for years. Elena had goals to continue in the agriculture industry by breeding her own show goats for the Pima County Fair and eventually pursuing a career as a veterinarian. She loved her 4-H and FFA families and is missed by everyone she knew.

Elena’s goat, Freddy, will be auctioned off immediately following the large stock auction on Saturday, April 29 at 11:30 am at the Pima County Fairgrounds. All donations will go into the Elena Muñoz Memorial Scholarship to help students who are interested in agriculture.
