Elementary School Auditorium- In need of TLC!

Hello!

My name is Ms. Sondergaard and I am a teacher at Glenoaks Elementary School in Glendale, CA. I have just started a musical theater program at our school, and although my students and I are incredibly excited, we were rather crestfallen to discover that our school auditorium is not equipped for our upcoming performance. While we do require sound and lighting equipment as well (see wishlist above), one of the most glaring issues (literally) is the fact that our window curtains are in tatters, letting a lot of light into the performance space. Both the window curtains and our stage curtains are ripped, and the flame retardant material is long expired. Our goal of $10,000 will help us to buy new stage and window curtains to create a safe, effective, and professional looking space for our students to learn to express themselves. Initial projections for curtain costs are approximately $8,000, but that does not yet include the cost of installation. Any additional funds we can raise will be used for lighting and sound equipment, costumes, and makeup. Please help us to create a space that can no only benefit our students this year, but also build a tradition of theater and art in our school and surrounding community.
