Element of Prime goes South Africa!
Wir sind „Element of Prime“ - ein fünfstimmiges Blockflötenconsort, bestehend aus den Musikerinnen Carin van Heerden, Magdalena Rath, Domenika Thanner, Veronika Traxler und Michaela Vaught.
Wir lieben es auf unseren schönen Consort-Instrumenten alte Musik immer wieder neu zu entdecken und auch mit zeitgenössischen Spielarten zu experimentieren. Und wir lieben es miteinander zu musizieren – unsere Begeisterung für die Musik und die Blockflöte möchten wir gerne teilen!
Schon lange ist es unser Wunsch, auf eine Tournee nach Südafrika zu gehen. Nun wird sich dieser Wunsch erfüllen: Im Februar 2024 touren wir durch Südafrika (Cape Town, Bloemfontein, Swellendam, Stellenbosch, Johannesburg). Wir freuen uns auf einen bereichernden musikalischen und kulturellen Austausch in Form von Workshops (für Lehrende und Studierende, SchülerInnen) und Konzerten, wie dem in Kapstadt ansässigen Lutesong Consort und der Cape Choral Academy in Stellenbosch.
Für vier von uns wird das völliges Neuland sein. Für ein Ensemble-Mitglied von uns wird es eine Rückkehr in ihre alte Heimat sein (Carin van Heerden, geboren und aufgewachsen in Südafrika).
Unsere Reiseausgaben (Flugtickets, Unterkünfte, Mietwagen, ein selbstgebautes Flightcase für unsere Instrumente) sind leider durch unsere Konzerteinnahmen nicht gedeckt. Wir freuen uns über jede Unterstützung, die uns die Umsetzung dieses wunderbaren Projektes erleichtert!!!

We are Element of Prime - a five-part recorder consort consisting of the musicians Carin van Heerden, Magdalena Rath, Domenika Thanner, Veronika Traxler and Michaela Vaught. We love to rediscover early music on our beautiful consort instruments and to experiment with contemporary styles. And we love to make music together - we would like to share our enthusiasm for recorder music.
For a long time we have been wanting to tour South Africa. Now the time has come: In February 2024 we will tour South Africa (Cape Town, Bloemfontein, Swellendam, Stellenbosch and Johannesburg). We are looking forward to a real musical and cultural exchange in the form of workshops (for pupils, students and teachers), a concert with the Lutesong Consort from Cape Town and a concert in collaboration with the Stellenbosch Cape Choral Academy.
For four of us this will be completely new territory. For one of our ensemble members it will be a return to her old home country (Carin van Heerden, born and raised in South Africa).
Unfortunately, our travel expenses (flight tickets, accommodation, rented car, our self-constructed flightcase for our instruments) are not covered by our fees. We appreciate everything that makes it easier for us to realize this
wonderful project!!!
