Elektra Needs Your Help: Moving Fund

Hi! You probably know me but if you don’t, hi! I’m Elektra!

WHO ARE YOU?!

I’ve lived in California for the past 6 years. I work for a non-profit that helps unhoused QTBIPOC youth and I love working there so much. I’m proudly queer and trans and I love uplifting my community in any way I can.

WHAT DO YOU NEED?!

I’m planning on moving out of my current apartment in February 2025 and I need financial help in doing so.

Ever since April 2024, my roommate has been unable to pay their share of the rent. This has left me to pay for the whole rent and utilities since then. (I’ve had a little bit of help from time to time from family and my roommate but overall, I’ve been covering the cost). This has left me with little to no room to be able to save money to move out since I am living paycheck to paycheck while supporting myself and my roommate.

This is where I need your help. I want to move to an apartment that I can pay for without being constantly stressed about finances and whether or not if I’ll have enough money for food.

HOW CAN I HELP?

I need help in paying for a deposit + first months rent + whatever pet fee the apartment I choose may have. (Also, moving boxes if needed but I might be able to get those for free from friends and neighbors).

If I do manage to be able to save some money, I will make a note of the real total at the top.

Once I’m moved in, I’ll be able to pay my rent and utilities and my basic life needs all on my own. I just need help in getting there. I am very responsible with my money, pay my rent and utilities on time and I am a hard worker. (Capitalism just sucks and moving is expensive).

I’ll keep track of what everything costs as soon as I know and update as I go along.

If you know me, then you know I hate asking for money and honestly help in general. But I really need it. If you know me in real life, you know that 2024 has been an incredibly challenging year for me. (Bleh.) I have hope that next year will be better once I move out and I’m able to get some control over my life again. ❤️
