Brad is my friend, a dad, a person you can count on personally and professionally, and a talented electrician who was helping us with our home remodel. This past weekend, Brad was involved in a devastating motorcycle accident—a collision with a car that left him with multiple serious injuries. He broke his wrist, his arm, and his upper leg, and his lower leg was so badly damaged that doctors had to amputate his foot. Brad has already been through multiple surgeries, and the road ahead for Brad is going to be long and challenging, both physically and emotionally.
Brad runs a small electrical business with just one partner, so when he’s unable to work, he has no income. The financial strain from medical bills, daily living expenses, and the extensive physical therapy he’ll need is overwhelming. Brad is the kind of person who always shows up for others, and now he needs our support more than ever.
I want to be clear that Brad did not ask me to create this GoFundMe—he doesn’t even know about it yet. Every single penny raised will go directly to Brad, and I’m contributing as well. I’m deeply grateful for any support you can offer, no matter how small. Brad, though a rather stoic guy, will be incredibly thankful for your kindness during this difficult time.
I've never started a GoFundMe before and I realize that I'm asking folks to help someone you've never met. I think the willingness of people to help friends and neighbors, even if we don't know them, is one of the greatest hallmarks of this country and I thank you in advance for anything you're comfortable contributing. Also, if you're riding a motorcycle, please be extra careful. There are a lot of bad or distracted drivers out there. And if you're driving a car, please do your best to not drive distracted and not do things that get other people hurt. Brad should be at work today, not in the hospital missing a foot, going through repeated surgeries, wondering what comes next. Thanks again, good people, for your generous help.
Please note: To encourage early support, I will personally match a portion of the first donations made to help Brad. Your generosity will go even further in these crucial first days.
