Electrical Fire destroyed my family’s home.

On March 29th, Friday night around 10pm, my family and I were awoken by the smell of smoke in our sunroom. Minutes later a fire broke out and as you can see from the photos our family home was burnt to crisp. I am setting up this GoFundMe account for my mother, father, and 3 siblings because quite frankly, we do not have the extra money or resources to help build a new life. Literally every thing on the upper level of the home was destroyed. The kitchen, living room, dining room, foyer, laundry room, sun room and 3 bedrooms were all burnt in the fire as you can see from the photos. The basement did not see any fire damage but there is significant water and smoke damage to the entire living space and 2 bedrooms down there. Hardly anything was salvageable on the lower level. My family and I were able to visit the house on Saturday to see what we could take. Fortunately, we were able to save some of our clothes, but everything was wet/damp and smells like smoke. There are some items in the garage that can be saved, but we need to put those in a storage until we are able to find a new home. 

Not only did we lose material things, but we lost our beloved Maltese, Lilly. She just turned 7 years old last week. Milo, our Yorkie, made it out of the house, so we are thankful he is still with us. I personally, search the house as much as I could to find Lilly, but unfortunately the smoke became so overwhelming that I had to get out of the house before I put my own life in danger. She will be greatly missed... She was honestly the most kind, sweetest dog I’ve ever been around. Life is not fair that she had to pass that way. I was able to recover her body on Saturday. My father and I will be burying her on Sunday. RIP my sweet angel Lilly.

My family and I are never the type to ask for help, but right now we need all the help we can get. I set a goal of $10,000, but my family and I would be thankful for any amount of money we receive. This is just a small step in helping get back on our feet. We have loving and supportive family members who are helping out as well, but we do not want to be a burden to them. We are currently living with my grandparents until we can sort through this mess. We have been through tough times in the past but never to the likes of this.
