Electric wheelchair to give Erin independence
Donation protected
In December 2020 Erin was diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma in her left leg. She has been through endless challenges since, including rounds and rounds of chemotherapy, radiotherapy, multiple major surgeries including an amputation and although she is still smiling she has lost much of her independence during this journey. As her mum, this is an extremely sad thing to watch happen to such a wonderful girl.
Erin rang the bell in December 2021 and spent 11 months cancer free but unfortunately, the cancer relapsed in November 2022. She spent some time on a more intensive chemotherapy but now takes chemotherapy tablets everyday. This leaves her extremely tired and she frequently struggles to get around as she did. Erin has a manual wheelchair and tries her best to use this as much as possible but it’s not always easy to get out and self propel when she is limited by the side effects of her chemotherapy. She often relies on her good friends and me to help her get around but as an eighteen year old girl she deserves her independence.
Erin is an excitable and social person, she has always enjoyed spending time with the people she loves and this has been a welcomed distraction and comfort during what has been an extremely challenging time. Before she lost her mobility she would spend a lot of time outdoors walking with her friends, going shopping and having little adventures. Please help us allow her to do this again, an electric chair would grant her the opportunity to get out of the house independently and without draining the little energy she has.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and we hope you could support our family with a donation.
