Electric Scooter for a wonderful lady Angela

Princess Ceirech Na Hinnsi (Angela Conklin) is a good friend and SCAdian in the Kingdom of Aethelmearc. She is looking forward to serving our wonderful kingdom but needs help with mobility. She no longer has an electric wheelchair or scooter to use.

I have set up this campaign with her full knowledge, and with encouragement from her friends that expressed wishes to contribute. She thanks you for your consideration. 

Ceirech has a progressive, incurable, genetic heart disease Apical Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. It’s usually pretty benign, but in her case it is the very opposite, and She has a lot of severe symptoms like congestive heart failure and life-threatening arrhythmias. Due to scar tissue building up inside her heart, the signal to tell her heart to beat can no longer travel throughout her heart, so a pacemaker makes the bottom chambers of her heart beat and a defibrillator to help protect her from going into cardiac arrest from the arrhythmias she experiences.

Her heart is actually strong with a good solid beat, but due to the type of heart disease, the wall around her left ventricle is severely thickened and does not like to relax to allow blood to fill that chamber before it’s constricting again. She takes medication to slow her heart rate down and give that chamber more time to fill, to get more oxygen into her body. With a heart that stays at a slower beat she runs out of physical and mental energy quickly, gets dizzy a lot, and struggles to catch her breath. She uses a walker to sit down if she becomes breathless, the walker also gives her some help with balance. On her worst days, or when she is attending large events such as Pennsic, a wheelchair is needed, so she has the freedom to get around. She also has 2 rods and 6 screws in her lower back.

Any funds raised beyond the price of the Scooter will go toward buying a rack for it and upgrades.
