Electric Bike for 25 Mile Work Commute
Donation protected
I'm Patrick, and I'm reaching out to share a bit about my situation. I've been living with epilepsy, and my determination to work despite challenges has driven me to commute by bike or bus for as long as I can remember. Adverse weather and physical demands never stopped me from making it to work every day.
Recently, I landed a job that offers a substantial income boost, but it comes with a catch - a daily commute of over 25 miles each way. Unfortunately, there's no viable public transportation option to get me to my workplace. Currently, I'm making do with a pedal bike that has seen better days, and it's on the brink of giving out.
Although I'm no stranger to long bike rides, this new journey is beginning to leave its mark on my body. The constant ache is becoming a part of my daily routine. Considering the 1.5-hour commute every morning and evening, coupled with the demands of my job, I find myself burning approximately 5,000 calories per day (according to my fitbit at least). To compensate for this immense caloric deficit, I'd need to consume around 2 Big Macs per meal, per day. Which frankly just ain’t good for my health.
I'm reaching out for support because I believe there's a better solution. I'm seeking to acquire a more reliable mode of transportation that can withstand this lengthy commute. Your assistance could help me secure an electric bike, which would not only make the journey more manageable but also significantly reduce the strain on my body.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story, and I appreciate any help you can provide on this journey.
