My son, Brock Thomson, 25 years young.
Three weeks from graduating from San Pasquale Reservation Fire Academy, came up from Escondido to spend time with family & have dinner. He went to get a quick workout on an eBike in San Juan Capistrano on the trails. Heading down a trail the eBike launched him though the air, leaving him unconscious. He woke up in the dark and was trying to get up but he couldn’t feel his legs. Looking down at his legs, one was twitching. He thought he was going to die.
He reached into his pocket to call 911 only to see no service available. He knew that the area that he was in would have been an air-transport via helicopter. At that moment fight or flight set in and he chose fight. He somehow miraculously got up from the dirt, grabbed the bike to use it as a walker and walked out to find service at a better location for fire fighters/ ambulance “The walk of hell” he calls it.... Once he reached an upward slope where he couldn’t pull the weight of the bike, He ditched it and made way up the slope to the grassy turnoff on the side of a road. He sat in the grass yelling for help.. he reached into his pocket one more time and called 911. From there, Brock was transported safely to the hospital by the ambulance team. He has in undr gone spinal surgury. They had to fuse his neck and back to stabilize his spine. the artery in his neck was severed from the blunt force inpacked. He has a very bad concusion. His lung was punctured and was bleeding internaly. Lucky to be alive and able to walk. Brock will continue to need surguries and a lot of physical therapy. Anything helps, let's please help Brock get the surgery and treatment to heal.

- Multiple fractures in spine
-Severed artery in his neck
-Internal bleeding
-Punctured lung
-Concussion

-C2- T5 fusion
-T11 T12 operation if needed
-Revision surgery in 6 months
