Hello wonderful people! We are the cast and crew, currently producing Frank McGuinness’ adaptation of Sophocles’ great Electra in Harvard’s Adams Pool Theatre this April 12th, 13th, and 14th, as well as during the Arts First Festival in early May.
As you probably know by now, we have secured space to perform internationally this summer in Istanbul, London, and Berlin! We are so grateful for this fantastic opportunity both to share the powerful story of history’s greatest female protagonist and to encourage Harvard theater to take bold risks and extend beyond the realms of the university community.
Our ability to accomplish this however, is directly dependent on our ability to raise sufficient funds to cover the venue fees and travel expenses of our cast and crew; many of us are on financial aid and will not be able to access this fantastic opportunity without complete financial support. Therefore we are looking to raise $15,000 to cover flights, boarding, and venue fees, and would ideally like to have secured at least half of this amount by our first performance in mid-April.
We are therefore reaching out into our wonderfully supportive and dedicated community for help. Please spread the word (and the GoFundMe page!) and consider donating for our cause. We appreciate immensely donations of any size! Should you choose, we will list you in our program according to the following:
Every patron will receive the love and gratitude of the cast and crew of Electra. Additionally, if they so choose, SPONSORS will be recognized in every pre-show announcement and will receive live tour updates!
On behalf of Electra, thank you all for your help, and we hope to see you at one of our shows!!!
