Elective midwifery placement to Sri Lanka

Donation protected
This August, I have the incredible opportunity to travel to Sri Lanka for just under a month to complete my elective midwifery placement as part of my training to become a midwife.

During this placement, I’ll be working alongside local midwives and healthcare professionals, gaining hands-on experience in a very different healthcare setting. Sri Lanka has a strong focus on community-based maternity care, and this experience will allow me to learn new approaches to supporting women and families during pregnancy, birth, and the postnatal period. I know this placement will be invaluable in shaping me into a more skilled, compassionate, and culturally aware midwife.

However, funding this opportunity comes with significant costs, including flights, accommodation, placement fees, insurance, and travel expenses. As a student, covering these costs alone is challenging — which is why I’m asking for your support.

To help raise money, I’ll be running the Bristol Half Marathon, pushing myself physically and mentally to help make this placement possible. Every mile I run will be for the women, babies, and families I hope to support in the future — both abroad and at home.

Any donation, no matter how small, would mean the world to me and will go directly towards making this placement possible. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page is just as appreciated.
