Election Integrity Work

Hi. I’m Lulu Friesdat. I’m an Emmy Award-winning journalist and documentary filmmaker. My focus is on informing people about the problems with the security and accuracy of our elections and I need your help to keep doing that.

Currently I'm conducting a handcount of 12 precints in the race between Tim Canova and Debbie Wasserman Schultz - the former head of the DNC. My team did a statistical analyis of this race, and felt that there were red flags worth investigating.

This is the blog post that explains our statistical analysis and the problems with the election results.

For the last year I have done public records requests asking for acess to the ballots. Those requests have been obstructed by the county. Finally Tim Canova took the county to court, and now we have won access to copy the ballots. On November 1st and 2nd we will copy the ballots in 12 precincts and count them by hand.

Will you please support this work? It is vital that we have confidence in the accuracy of our vote counts. This is the best way to determine if the votes were counted accurately. If you agree - please make a contribution at whatever level you can afford. If you can make a large donation, like $500 - we really need it to sustain this effort. If you have $100, or $5 - it will all help.

Thank you for everything you are doing to help achieve secure, accurate, transparent elections here in the U.S.

These are notes from past projects:

July 2017:

This week I’m going to DEF CON – which is one of the largest hacking conferences in the world – because this year, they’re hacking voting machines. After the Con, we’ll have a better idea of whether or not the machines can be hacked as easily as many of us have been warning they can. Here’s where you come in. I need to raise $6,000 to help pay my expenses to DEF CON, get some new camera equipment and fund a few other projects I'm working on to help secure our elections.

I have been investigating election issues and working for reform for over 10 years - the last two years, very intensively as I’ve become more and more concerned how much our elections are at risk. I have a feeling that this work is as important to many of you as it is to me. Please demonstrate that support by making a donation today to my GoFundMe campaign. Whether you can give 5 dollars, or 500 – I need your help to keep this happening. If you want to know more about the projects I’m involved in, please check out some of the links below.

 - A demo I filmed of Alex Halderman and Ari Feldman hacking a Diebold Accuvote TS voting machine. The kind that was recently used in the Georgia Special Election .

- The legal voting rights group I am working with on legislation for election integrity in New York State.

- The conference I'll be attending in August. I'll be giving a talk on a proposal for audits that features a mixture of hand-counted paper ballots and risk-limiting audits.

- The pieces that I produced on the Wisconsin recount.

- My blog , where I cover problems with the voting machines in detail.

- The documentary that I directed, about why more people don't vote and participate in elections.

If you can donate at least $25 I will send you a copy of the newly updated version of my film, with footage from the 2016 primary and general election and new 2016 turnout figures! It hasn't been released yet - so you'll be ahead of the curve.

Please do give as much as you can to help me continue to do this work. 2018 will be here before you know it. I hope that by then we can make progress toward securing the elections. Thank you for everything you are doing toward that goal!
