Denman Rooke has been selected as the Galway West by-election candidate for People Before Profit.
We are not funded by large donors, business, or landlord interests, so we need all the support from working people like you to make our campaign a success. Any amount you can contribute will help us print leaflets, print posters, pay for advertisements and promotions and all the other costs associated with running a campaign.
"If elected I will fight for the people of Galway for a radical shift on housing and for an Ireland we can afford. I will also work to bring ordinary people together against attacks on our neutrality. We must resist the warmongers and those who want to spread hate and division"
We Want
- Homes for All – Ban short term lets; ban evictions during a housing crisis; freeze rents, and build public housing through a state construction company.
- Affordability – Cap food and energy prices; give one off payments to protect against escalating energy costs; provide an emergency disability payment.
- GLUAS – Galway needs people out of cars. A light rail along with dedicated bus lanes, and segregated active travel infrastructure will save people time while reducing traffic and emissions. We need free and frequent public transport.
- Protect the Triple Lock – the government wants to end neutrality. This would inevitably align us with NATO and force our children into foreign wars.
- Protect Children – The government allows big tech to sexualise children with AI – we must regulate big tech to protect children, women, and wider society.
- Stand Up To Racism – The government supports the rich and robs the rest of us. We won’t let them and their cronies shift the blame for homelessness, poverty and inequality onto immigrants.
