E-Learning for all: Bridge Digital Divide

Goal of the Fundraiser:

Humane warriors’ mission E-Learning for all, aims to help rural children return to their education. We will raise funds to procure 400 smartphones enable them with e-learning software and distribute them in a targeted manner within rural communities and communities of need.

 

 

How covid has impacted these kids?

Lockdowns and school closures due to the Covid-19 pandemic have had devastating effects on the education of students. Over 320 million students will be directly or indirectly affected out of which only 37.6 million children are able to continue education through various education initiatives such as online classrooms and radio programs etc. (UNICEF, 2020a).

 

Thus, not everyone has the privilege to be onboard the digital education train. Furthermore, In rural India, only 15% of students have access to the internet compared to 42% in urban India creating a digital divide affecting our rural children disproportionately, and rural girls, in specific, the most forcing them to do more household activities and at worst being pushed to early and child marriages.

Every 70 EUR/ 6000 INR donated will be used to procure a smartphone. Each Smartphone has video calling facilities, custom-built IVRS software, and sufficient storage space. The campaign plans to procure 400 devices. These devices will later be distributed among rural children who currently have no access to digital education with a special focus on rural girl students.

Humane Warriors is a 100% non-profit campaign. All donors will receive a financial transparency report disclosing all details regarding the usage of the proceeds from this crowdfunding. Transparency is at the core of what we do and like all our previous campaigns, we will build a public transparency report for everyone.

 

We have supported 200,000 people living in marginalized communities with food, livelihood, and education support, across 32 locations in India since 2020. With this experience and our values to remain community-oriented, transparent, and innovative, we make sure that every donation goes towards helping the communities in need.

 

Recently in Summer 2020 via the campaign "Help India Breathe", we raised close to 70,000 CHF and helped India's fight against Covid19 by procuring 17 concentrators and funding 100,000+meals.

About Us:

Humane Warriors is a global community of volunteers working towards building resilient communities to fight social and environmental equity social and environmental equity, specifically catered to under-resourced and marginalized Indian communities. With the goal to build resilient communities, the team has grown globally with 50+ volunteers and 52 partners to fight social and environmental inequity.
