Alexandra and Tannis here… We’re reaching out to rally support for our dear friend, Eleanor Waterfall.

If you know Ellie, you know she is the heart and soul of her bakery, Cadeaux, a longtime pillar of Vancouver’s hospitality community, and an extraordinary mother, wife, and friend. From the moment we met Ellie, over 20 years ago, her warmth, humour, and nurturing spirit drew us in, as it did for many others. Over the years, we’ve watched her navigate life’s many challenges with grace, intelligence, tireless determination, and deep kindness. She gives so much of herself to the people around her and her generosity has left a lasting mark on countless lives, especially those who’ve had the privilege of working with her.

Ellie is currently facing a serious health challenge and we’re raising funds to help support her and her family through this difficult time. In mid February, Ellie was diagnosed with soft tissue sarcoma. She has a cancerous tumor in her arm that required intensive radiation treatment which was completed over a 5 week period in May and June. She is currently recovering from severe radiation burn to her left arm, a debilitating side effect of treatment that has left her in constant pain and unable to work. The next step is surgery that is scheduled for August. What follows is a 2 to 6 month healing period which will require her to take extended time off from the bakery.

Between medical costs, time away from work, and the everyday expenses of running a small business and supporting a family, the financial burden is overwhelming.

We’re asking for your support so Ellie can rest, recover, and focus on healing with her family without the added stress of keeping her bakery afloat.
