Eleah's Cancer (Leukemia) Journey!

Eleah Update

We wanted to share an update on Eleah’s condition. Tomorrow, she will undergo a bone marrow biopsy to assess whether the 88% cancer infiltration in her bone marrow has decreased since beginning chemotherapy. She continues to receive blood transfusions every four days and was recently placed on a feeding tube due to weight loss and reduced appetite.

Today marks the end of her corticosteroid treatment—a small but positive step forward. However, she has currently lost the ability to speak and walk, and will begin inpatient rehabilitation next week to support her recovery.

Her mother remains by her side at the hospital daily, and her grandmother is commuting back and forth to provide additional support.

We continue to ask for your prayers and any donations you can offer. Your ongoing support and generosity mean the world to our family during this incredibly difficult time.

Eleah’s Leukemia Update

We wanted to share an update on our sweet Eleah’s journey. Her recent test results revealed that 88% of her bone marrow is affected by leukemia. In addition, doctors have found cancer cells in her brain and spine.

Although this news is incredibly difficult, her medical team is treating her very aggressively. Eleah is receiving chemotherapy through her chest port every other day, and she is being placed under anesthesia twice a week for spinal chemo injections.

We’ve been told that while her leukemia was caught early and her young age is in her favor, her type of cancer is treatable but not curable and they currently have her on a 2-3 year treatment plan.

Eleah has already been through so much, and she still has a long road ahead, but she is extremely strong for being so little. We are staying strong for her and trying to keep her in good spirits. Your support truly means the world to our family. Thank you all so much for your donations and keeping Eleah in your continued thoughts and prayers ♥️️

Hi, my name is Sheila Perkins, and I’m the cousin of Billie Jean Trujillo (Eleah's Grandma) and Elexis Benavidez (Eleah's mom).

I’m reaching out on behalf of our family to ask for your support as we rally around sweet little Eleah Cordova during an incredibly difficult time.

This past Friday, Eleah—who is only 2 years old and turning 3 at the end of July—wasn’t her usual happy, energetic self. She was lethargic, had a high fever of 104, became very pale, developed red spots on her skin, and was struggling to breathe. Recognizing something was very wrong, she was rushed to the emergency room in Santa Fe, where doctors quickly determined she needed to be transferred to UNM Children’s Hospital for specialized care.

At UNM, Eleah underwent an urgent blood transfusion after tests showed critically low levels of red blood cells, platelets, and white blood cells. Tragically, her little body rejected the first transfusion, and she has since required five blood transfusions and three platelet transfusion in just the past two days to stabilize her condition.

After further testing, Eleah was diagnosed with B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (B-ALL)—a life-changing diagnosis that no family is ever prepared to hear.

Today, Eleah underwent surgery to have a port-a-cath (chemo port) placed, along with a bone marrow biopsy, bone marrow extraction, and a spinal fluid extraction (lumbar puncture). She also bravely began her first round of chemotherapy as we await further biopsy results to determine her full treatment plan.

Eleaha is a sweet, spunky little diva who loves unicorns and Cocomelon. She has so much light and joy to give, and we are committed to walking this journey with her every step of the way.

Elexis and Billie Jean are now facing the overwhelming challenges of unexpected travel, time away from work, and increasing medical expenses—all while staying strong for Eleah. I’ve set up this GoFundMe to help ease their financial burden so they can focus fully on being by Eleah’s side without the added stress of lost income or mounting hospital bills.

If you’re able to give, any amount—large or small—will truly make a difference. If you’re not able to donate at this time, we’d be incredibly grateful if you could share this fundraiser and keep Eleah in your thoughts and prayers.

Thank you all soooo much for your love and support, during this difficult time.
