Aloha All!

In an effort to begin the healing process and provide a helping hand to our Eldorado Ohana that just lost their homes in the wildfires that devastated Lahaina, the MEK Board of Directors is setting up this GoFundMe page to give Owners and other Eldorado Ohana Members a way to contribute to those that have literally lost everything in this horrific event.

Due to the severity and speed of these wildfires, everyone was forced to leave their homes immediately, and in most cases with just the clothes on their backs. They are now literally having to start over from scratch. To add to the urgency of the situation, all the kids and grandkids involved just started a new school year and all they have left are the clothes they evacuated in. All their new school clothes, school supplies, laptops… everything was lost and in most cases, even their schools are now gone so they’re likely to have to attend school remotely until the schools can be rebuilt.

There are government agencies that will soon be helping with basic essentials and insurance claims to rebuild. But in the meantime, they have to find a place to live and then restock everything such as kitchen supplies, utensils, pots, pans... and then there are the TVs, computers, laptops, sporting equipment, etc. that have to be replaced.

Our goal is to be a blessing to our Ohana and provide each of our employees that lost their homes a substantial gift to help them start over. To make a significant difference in this effort the Board has set a goal of raising $100,000 for this mission so that we can truly make a difference in the lives of these families that have given the Eldorado so much over the years and have now lost everything. We ask you to also please invite and encourage others to join us in this very worthy cause.

The Board will be overseeing the distribution of these funds and will keep owners abreast of developments and all that we’re able to accomplish with this GoFundMe campaign.
