Elderly couple Joe and Carol Robinson in need due to house fire!
My parents home caught on fire May 19, 2020, they are physically ok. Thankfully they had neighbors come to their aid and got them out safely. My Grandfather (my mother's father) built this home in the 1950s and raised his family there, and then my parents raised their family there as well. This home has a lot of sentimental value to my family, its where we grew up, had holidays/ celebrations, family dinners, etc. Unfortunately my parents didn't have home owners insurance and can't afford to fix their home. The home already had many issues due to the age of the home but the fire just made everything worse. They really need some help to rebuild their home. Contractors are giving us an estimate of $150,000 to totally rebuild their home.
My parents are an elderly couple living on a fixed income. My father is a 72 yr old retired City of Houston Waste Water employee that served the Houston, TX community proudly and faithfully for 28 1/2 yrs. My mother is 67 and was a homemaker that raised four children. My dad is affectionately known as "Mr. Joe" around the neighborhood and my mom as "Di" for her middle name Diane. Both my parents have health issues but my mother is disabled and needs the assistance of others to do almost everything. So the house needs to be made handicap accessible for her as well.
This tragedy has added a lot more stress to an already stressful situation. My sister and I have been working hard to clean out our parents home from the fire/ water damage and trying to find them some assistance as well to rebuild their home. We need to get them back in their home as soon as possible. Thank you in advance for your help it is really appreciated. GOD bless n much LOVE!
