Hi, I am trying to raise funds for an elderly victim of abuse. She has suffered significantly emotionally, physically, medically, and financially. Unfortunately, the local authorities failed to see the indicators of abuse and initially offered her no assistance and left her with her abuser for months longer. Her only help thus far has been taking on matters privately as her abuser has also blocked her from receiving any county aid through false claims . To show elder abuse and obtain a protective order, the victim had to pay for a lawyer, private investigators, and court records. Her legal fees and damages are currently at $32,000 and are expected to climb to roughly $120k due to investigative and expected legal/lawyer fees. Thus far the only home she has ever known since immigrating to the US 50 years ago is being pursued by law teams hired by the abuser who made more false claims and has a history of perjury and fraud. The elder's social security has been spent fighting that, however it is not enough.

The stress has caused the victim injuries and associated costs. She now has cardiac problems, and symptoms similar to PTSD . She may need to get a job at almost 80 years old to pay for day-to-day necessities.

Her family members once realizing what happened immediately helped, but have not been able to pay for all of the fees and have their own medical costs resulting from the suspect trying to run one of them over in her car. This never resulted in an arrest or consequences. Six days later the suspect ran over another person trying to help the victim - twice. This also resulted in no arrests.

Elders spend their whole lives working and raising families and deserve to feel safe in the community they helped build. Our mission is the stop one criminal from serial elder abuse and prevent her from doing this to someone else.

Beyond that, the involved private investigators have agreed that they will utilize any additional funds over final costs to assist other elder abuse victims who find themselves in a similar position of not being heard or helped.
