Hi, my name is Mousse.

I am an adorable lab cross puppy. I am 10 months old. In my spare time I enjoy wearing the curtains as a cape and pretending I’m a superhero, throwing my own ball and then pouncing on it, chewing on my sister’s legs and licking absolutely everything.

Unfortunately, at 5 months old I started to experience lameness and pain. My humans got me to the vets and it was presumed I had a sprain from playing rough housing with my sister so much. It got better with pain relief and rest.

Sadly, pain and lameness returned so my humans took me to see the vet again who prescribed stricter rest and more pain relief. My situation improved for a little while.

When the problem came back again, my vet took some images of my leg and explained that there were some changes and I needed to see a new vet.

At the new practice, I had a CT scan which showed lesions and fragments and the new vet told my humans that I needed to have surgery ASAP to improve my quality of life.

Sadly, my humans had already maxed out the annual limit on my insurance in investigations and treatments and there was nothing left for my surgery until the renewal in January 2026. My vet explained to them that waiting that long meant strict rest but also risked my bones setting as I would be over 1 years old by then. Leaving the surgery makes the success rate lower than if they act fast whilst I’m still young.

My humans are asking if anybody can help donate to my surgery to help me to get treatment ASAP so I can get back to being a young pup once again.
