Hi everyone!
Some are not aware yet and some are. On August 18, 2025 my father had a severe stroke. It was on majority of the left side of his brain, the doctor said only 10% of patients have survived a stroke this severe. When it first happened he went to Humble Memorial Hermann for about 9 days as we waited for his insurance to approve him going to an inpatient rehab. Due to him having to relearn how to walk, talk, eat and just to help him learn how to gain his independence back. Also to help get him the exercise he needs to get his strength back. Unfortunately even after the doctors orders for him to go, at first it did not get approved by his insurance. So the hospital sent him home saying they have done everything they could to at least get him out of the danger zone. So we thought. After being home for almost a week he ended up back in the hospital for his stroke in his brain had excelled from the left to the center and was hemorrhaging. He got worse, and spent another week in Humble Memorial Hermann. We fought until insurance finally approved for him to go to Woodlands Memorial Hermann for inpatient care at Tirr for rehab. He was there almost two weeks. Now he is back home and physically can move around a little better. He can walk, brush his teeth, shower and talk better. Of course still with some help. Everything else he is unable to do yet, his memory is very short term and he forgets things within minutes. We are working with him everyday. He is making a recovery, but now the challenges and the battles are truly where our family is, The aftermath of a severe stroke. Due to this happening my mom is the only one able to work, and a single household income is already hard enough. The amount we asked for is strictly to help cover hospital bills, doctors appointments and at home nursing for a nurse to come a few times a week to evaluate my dad and help take care of him which is a big help so she can work to help keep them above water. Right now my dad is unable to be by himself, we come together as a family to make sure someone is always with him but we all have to work as well. Any dollar amount is greatly appreciated and all the funds are going to my dads medical bills and the help he needs to get better.
Thank you.
