March 28th is Elaine's Birthday!!!!

This year, my mother and I planned to travel to Italy for her 60th birthday, but just when she was getting excited and we started to look at airfare, she slips and breaks her leg. Poor Mom!!! After 6 breaks, 1 surgery, 2 plates and several screws (she's got quite a bit of hardware now), the big adventure is now postponed indefinitely as she is still in a cast and will most likely have a few months of physical therapy to get through.  She is so disappointed now that her dream trip is canceled.

Since the plan was to travel in May, we agreed there would be no big birthday party, but now as the situation has changed, I feel guilty not being able to throw the big party she deserves with too little time to plan it. 

So to make her birthday extra special, I thought it would be so great to come together and help her fund part of her Italian Getaway. Hopefully this will inspire her not to give up on this dream, and to work hard through physical therapy so that maybe by the fall, or at least by next year, she can make it to Italy.  My Mother has always been a giving and loving parent, aunt, cousin, godmother, friend and co-worker. For all that she has done for us (especially me), I thought what a perfect way to give back to her. I invite you to donate towards her future Italian Getaway with me. All funds will go directly to Elaine for her trip. I will send a card on the 28th with everyone's name's who donated. Don't forget this is a surprise so please don't share with her yet.
