Join Elaine Tymchak in Beating Stage IV Cancer

Our friend, family member, colleague, mentor (and my girlfriend) Elaine Tymchak has been diagnosed with uterine cancer Stage IV which has aggressively spread to the lymph nodes and liver and she needs your help to beat it.

What happened? In late November 2024 Elaine felt unwell and after a visit to the ER doctors found a blood clot on her leg. Problems persisted into the new year and collapsing, a 911 call and a ride in an ambulance led to a week in hospital and 3 blood transfusions due to severe haemorrhaging and anaemia in January. After several more weeks of increasing pain and more than two dozen trips to doctors, medics failed to diagnose a problem. Then 10 days ago Elaine again found herself back in the Emergency Room where a CT scan showed multiple blood clots in her lungs and a large tumor on her uterus with enlarged lymph nodes and nodes on her liver. On 18th March 2025 biopsy results confirmed Stage 4 cancer.

In Elaine's own words: "It has been a very difficult journey because not only am I in extreme pain, I also haven’t known what was wrong..." The cancer diagnosis was "so overwhelming. I felt numb throughout all of it. I was told that uterine cancer does not typically spread like mine has, so it’s a very aggressive, fast growing cancer. Without any treatment I would only have months to live. But she’s confident that treatment can give me several more years of life, possibly remission."

Many of you know that Elaine fought and beat a pituitary brain tumour during her 30s, now she's fighting again. For years, Elaine has been helping leaders make change where they live through her nonprofit, Cultivate. Now it’s time for all of us to help Elaine!

In a few days, Elaine begins a treatment journey involving a combination of chemo and immunotherapy (which will likely be followed by anticipated surgery), which should be covered by insurance. In addition we'll be pursuing holistic treatments.

The need is to pursue holistic and integrative medicine therapies - which we'll update on as we move forward - along with additional financial needs - whatever it takes to beat this - which are costs that won’t be covered by insurance.
