In the early hours of October 8, 2023, my sweet mother passed away peacefully in Virginia Beach. I was in the process of moving -with her- from Hartsville, SC to Virginia for a job opportunity that I have accepted.

For the past number of years I have taken care of my mom. She was battling her fourth, and now final, fight with cancer. To say she was a very strong woman is an understatement. If you knew my mom, you know she fought with grace, dignity and, yet, was always able to be a friend to all.

Her generous spirit of always wanting to help others made it very difficult for us to put away much money to prepare for Mom's after-care.

I am trying to raise money to help with final expenses. Mom's wish was to be cremated and her ashes to be taken to her family cemetery plot in Bardwell, Kentucky. There she will be with her parents, her sister Nancy and all the other Guptons who are there. I am going to do my all to fulfill my mom's final wishes but am asking for some help in doing that.
