Hi guys. I have never done this for myself, only others, and believe me, it is extremely demoralizing to even have to reach out.

As most of you know, we have been evacuated for 2 weeks now. My mom and I signed a lease on a beautiful home in the Lake Almanor area just 2 weeks before the fire began.

We have poured savings, time, and blood sweat and tears (literally) into this endeavor. We put weeks into our dream. Then disaster came to our front door. Aka, the dixie fire. Unfortunately we did not get renters insurance.

We have been in multiple campgrounds and cheap motels over the course of these last few weeks.

My summer income was wiped away as was our dream of turning our new home into a successful Airbnb.

The house is still standing and we will be able to get back soon to assess the damage or lack of (hopefully)

I realize sadly that there are people in much more precarious and devastating situations than we are, and when I get back on my feet I intend to help them in any way I can, even if it includes picking up a shovel and helping dig through the remains of what they have left, but for now I am down to the very end of my resources.

It would be more helpful than you could ever realize for me to be able to get just enough to get back to being able to pay a few bills and put food on the table (even if it's a picnic table)
