My name is Wendy Meador.  I've known Elaina for over 25  years now.  I'm simply facilitating this, as she needs to save her strength and use all her energy for her fight ahead.  I'll let her tell you in her own words.
"I have a difficult announcement to make. Its very personal. I don't share a lot of deeply private info, so I'm taking a leap of faith here, because I need help. My family needs your help.

I was recently diagnosed with having medium sized melanoma mass in my left eye. I have to begin a series of procedures starting on May 6. I don't know for sure if there's anything else going on in my body. We'll be doing a lot of tests at the hospital.

We have a $5800 deductible to meet before our insurance covers the tests and surgeries I will need. Yesterday I learned that when I go for a PET SCAN on May 6, the hospital may require up front payment for the procedure because we have not me that deductible. That procedure alone is $3500.00. We won't know until we get there, and they run the insurance. I can't begin any treatments until I have this test. Nothing will be covered til I meet that deductible.

All of the funds raised are for the $3500 PET Scan, up to the deductible of $5800.00. I have never done this before so bare with me while we figure out how the gofundme works..for a human that is:)

Its not a good feeling to go on Facebook and ask your friends for money. Forgive me for this. I'm struggling with it all. But yesterday I was told, Loud and clear, I need a support team. Its not easy to put this out in the world and ask for help.

Its not just about funds. Little things, jokes or memories..normal things, go a long way for me lately. Normal things you would do for a friend, that would be supporting me too.
