Katie's Wheels

At about 2 months into my pregnancy, I had a tear in the sac and started losing the fluid. I was considered high risk and was put on bed rest for the next 2 months. I was then admitted into the hospital where I would remain until Katelyn was born at just over 28 weeks premature. Due to there being barely any fluid, her lungs were under developed. Katelyn was giving only a 3% chance of surving! 2 weeks after she was born she develop brain bleeds on both sides, grades 3 & 4. Due to the bleeds, she got a blood clot that caused Hydrocephalitis and needed a shunt. She also developed ROP in her eyes, and after several hearing test, she was diagonsed deaf. She was not expected to make it as far as she has. On Sept 2nd, she turned 9. While she is learning to walk in her walker, she is mostly wheelchair bound and getting bigger!! In the next couple of years we will be needing to invest in a Wheelchair Accessable Van for her. We are looking to hopefully  get a decent downpayment to put on her van. Any little bit will help!!!
