El Salvador COVID19- Monte Grande Community Relief
Donation protected
Help provide basic necessities to the people of Monte Grande, El Salvador, and the surrounding communities who have been severely affected by the COVID19 Crisis.

Monte Grande is a rural community that sits on the outskirts of San Miguel- El Salvador’s third most populous city. On trips back home, my family and I would spend days in the canton, visiting family and friends who have lived in the area since my mother’s childhood. It is a place I love and cherish.
The COVID19 crisis has had major effects on communities around the world, but in places like Monte Grande, where electricity is not in every home and food is not always on the table, the impact has been devastating. Though the government of El Salvador has offered financial aid and bill deferrals, not all citizens qualify for the relief packages, leaving vulnerable communities to fall through the cracks. Accessing basic necessities has become even more challenging, and for the elderly or sick who cannot work, it is unfeasible.
The people of Monte Grande are in dire need of aid. Though my family and I continue to provide assistance within our own means, it is crucial that the reach is amplified. Through conversation with our family and friends in the area, we discovered that Community Organizers within Monte Grande have started a campaign to assist its most vulnerable members. The operation provides families with basic necessities such as rice, beans, cooking oil, and toilet paper.
These efforts are already underway, with the organization having managed to feed upwards of 90+ households with their first round of donations, and are now expanding aid into the surrounding communities.
Monte Grande has mobilized purely within its own network; this fundraiser aims to help expand their outreach. Whether you are in a position to make a donation, or simply help by spreading the word about this fundraiser, every effort is valuable in contributing to the goal of providing food and resources to these beautiful communities.
From my family and I, and all members of the Monte Grande communities, we thank you for contributions.
