# El Paso Strong Jorge Calvillo Garcia Memorial

Jorge Calvillo Garcia was one of the 22 victims of the horrific mass shooting at the hands of an evil man that besieged El Paso this past weekend. Jorge was at the WalMart to support his granddaughter's young soccer team's fundraiser there. As the gunman approached the soccer team Jorge stepped between him and his son Luis, who was shielding his daughter and teammates. Doing what a great father and grandfather does, he did what he could to protect them. Unfortunately he did not make it. Many of us know Jorge through his wife Eva pictured here.  Eva lost her husband and has been by her son Luis's side soon after this tragedy happened. She is a part of our families and has been with some of those she helps for decades. As a family they are as kind as they come and the humbleness is something we should all strive for.  Jorge and Eva often would take used clothes to Juarez orphanages in need. Jorge was the general manager for a dairy import export cross border business. They have not done interviews or had any stories about Jorge or Luis because initially some were not accurate and made claims that were not true, and they value their privacy.  After visiting with Eva, her son Alberto, and many, many extended family within the ICU, we knew we had to do something to help them directly. 

Therefore, this campaign has been established in Jorge's name to help his family with costs associated with his death, and to provide some monetary assistance for Eva and her family in the hopes that they can focus on the recovery of Luis and move forward with healing.  We appreciate any assistance you would like to provide, in honor of Jorge and his family.
