We are a community basketball club with many volunteer who volunteer their time, service and sometimes their own funds. We are a basketball club that accepts all children who want to learn, train and play basketball. When we began the El Paso Blaze Basketball Club we realized that many children lacked the financial means to purchase uniforms and pay registration as well as other fees. Many children within the community simply had no place to go if they wanted to play and learn basketball.
We at the El Paso Blaze Basketball Club give the kids within our community a place to learn basketball as well as learn team building skills, comradery, discipline, competitiveness while having fun. We have learning that most coaches want to recruit kids that already have experience for their teams. We do not do tryouts, we do not cut kids, we simply accept kids that with minimum to no skills and we train and develop them. We feel that any child that wants to play basketball should have a place where they can play regardless of their experience and financial situation.
We are fundraising to help offset some of the expenses that we incur from families that have financial difficulty, financial troubles or financial emergencies. We are also fundraising to help purchase desperately needed equipment, and to develop our own space to use for our organization. We are fundraising to purchase uniforms, to offset some of the travel expenses for out of town tournaments which include lodging, travel and meals. We have over 160 children that range from Pre-Kindergarten through high school that are a part of our community basketball club.
We are in this community for the long haul. All of our volunteers are dedicated to the advancement of our community and the game of basketball.
