EL MO Collective is a music band that combines musical styles from the Black Sea region and various Eastern European countries in its own way. The repertoire includes polyphonic vocal songs, Eastern European folk music and new instrumental songs with meandering melodies, swinging beats and much more…

EL MO Collective gives a contemporary interpretation of songs that are sometimes centuries old, without losing sight of the music's core and origins. With new arrangements, we theatrically and musically explore how existing music can be given a new twist. By letting music sound from different corners of the room or by taking inspiration from other musical styles such as jazz and klezmer.

EL MO Collective is een muziekband die op een eigen manier muziekstijlen uit het Zwarte Zee-gebied en verschillende Oost-Europese landen combineert. Het repertoire bestaat uit meerstemmige zangnummers, Oost-Europese volksmuziek en nieuwe instrumentale nummers met meanderende melodieën, swingende beats en nog veel meer…

EL MO Collective geeft een eigentijdse interpretatie van nummers die soms al eeuwen oud zijn, zonder de kern en de oorsprong van de muziek uit het oog te verliezen. Met nieuwe arrangementen onderzoeken ze op theatrale en muzikale wijze hoe ze bestaande muziek een nieuwe twist kunnen geven. Door muziek uit verschillende hoeken van de ruimte te laten klinken of door inspiratie te halen uit andere muziekstijlen zoals jazz en klezmer. Laat je meevoeren met een muzikale reis door Oost-Europa, in de richting van de Zwarte Zee!
