CUANDO TANIT SE ENCONTRO CON LA DIOSA

El 6 de septiembre, el día de la Diosa Tanit, Ibiza despidió a Tanit.

Hay coincidencias que simplemente ocurren. Y hay otras que, en una isla como Ibiza, cuesta no pensar que tienen algo de magia.

Dos días antes de su partida, el 4 de septiembre, Tanit había recibido La Llave de Ibiza, un reconocimiento a una vida profundamente ligada a esta isla y a una persona que durante décadas formó parte de su esencia más auténtica, libre y singular.

Porque Tanit era de esas personas que no necesitaban presentación.

Prácticamente todos los que han vivido o visitado Ibiza se cruzaron alguna vez con él. Era imposible no reconocerlo: su bicicleta, sus largas rastas, su característico taparrabos y esa presencia tan suya que parecía formar parte del paisaje de la isla.

Durante décadas recorrió Ibiza en su bicicleta, convirtiéndose en uno de esos personajes únicos que hacen que Ibiza sea lo que es.

Tanit no solo vivió en Ibiza; de alguna manera, se convirtió en parte de ella.

Pero detrás de ese personaje tan querido y reconocible también hubo una historia de lucha.

Durante su enfermedad, APAAC la Asociación Pitiusa de Ayuda a Afectados de Cáncer, estuvo a su lado y le ayudó en momentos en los que necesitaba apoyo.

Y Tanit no olvidó esa ayuda.

Tenía un deseo: recaudar fondos para APAAC, para que ellos pudieran seguir haciendo por otras personas lo que habían hecho por él.

Hoy queremos cumplir ese deseo.

Por eso hemos creado esta recaudación en su memoria. Todo lo que consigamos será destinado a APAAC, para contribuir a que puedan continuar acompañando, ayudando y dando apoyo a personas afectadas por el cáncer y a sus familias.

Quizás Tanit se fue el día de la Diosa Tanit por una de esas casualidades que tiene la vida.

O quizás, en Ibiza, algunas coincidencias tienen un poco de magia.

Lo que sí sabemos es que su último deseo puede seguir vivo.

Y podemos hacerlo realidad entre todos.

WHEN TANIT MET THE GODDESS

On September 6th, the day of the Goddess Tanit, Ibiza said goodbye to Tanit.

Some coincidences simply happen. And others, on an island like Ibiza, are hard not to see as something a little magical.

Just two days before his passing, on September 4th, Tanit received The Key to Ibiza, an award honouring a life deeply connected to this island and a man who, for decades, became part of its most authentic, free-spirited and unique essence.

Because Tanit was one of those people who needed no introduction.

Almost everyone who has ever lived in or visited Ibiza crossed paths with him at some point. He was impossible to miss: his bicycle, his long dreadlocks, his distinctive loincloth, and that unmistakable presence that seemed to belong to the island itself.

For decades, he travelled around Ibiza in his own unique way, becoming one of those extraordinary characters who make Ibiza what it is.

Tanit didn't just live in Ibiza; in some way, he became part of it.

But behind this much-loved and instantly recognisable character was also a story of struggle.

During his illness, APAAC the Pitiusan Association for People Affected by Cancer was there for him, supporting and helping him through some of the most difficult moments of his life.

And Tanit never forgot that.

He had one wish: to raise funds for APAAC, so that they could continue doing for others what they had done for him.

Today, we want to make that wish come true.

That is why we have created this fundraiser in his memory. Everything we raise will go to APAAC, helping the association continue to support, accompany and assist people affected by cancer and their families.

Perhaps Tanit left us on the day of the Goddess Tanit because of one of those coincidences life sometimes gives us.

Or perhaps, in Ibiza, some coincidences carry a little magic.

What we do know is that his final wish can live on.

And together, we can make it happen.
