Hello everyone! My name is EK and I have been invited/nominated to attend the Washington Journalism and Media Conference in July 2025, hosted by George Mason University. If you know me, you know that I have always had a passion for writing and journalism. If you don’t know me, I took my first trip to DC at 8 and immediately knew that it was my dream. A dream to successfully live in such a competitive city with such a competitive environment was particularly elaborate at 8; alas, the first opportunity for me has opened up.

As someone who suffered some health issues in the past couple of years, traveling to Washington D.C. alone to participate in an amazing and inspiring program would make me (and my momma) proud. Here’s the catch: the conference is $2,600. The tuition cost does include housing, food, transportation (not travel to and from DC), and the entire week of classes, speeches, and incredible experiences.
