Celebrate Eric Fehn's Legacy at Dickinson

Donation protected
"Hey hey!" Anyone who knew Eric Fehn knew him honestly. His loud and vibrant personality filled the spaces in our hearts and often challenged the limits of our sanity in all the best ways. A singer, a writer, an activist, a lover of people, pets, pranks and parties - he had something in common with everyone. His alma mater, Dickinson College, is fundraising through bricks for our new alumni center garden, and we welcome all who knew Eric to support the purchase of a brick in his memory. It has been nearly 20 years since he graduated, and nearly 15 years since he left a world that desperately needed his joy and energy. But his memory lives on in all of us lucky enough to know and love him. It has been passed on to our children in the ways in which we love, accept, and celebrate them and teach them to do the same. Our goal is to get the largest brick available - my man Eric would settle for nothing but the best. It will be inscribed simply with:

Eric Z. Fehn '06
Beloved

An homage to Maya Angelou's first published essays where she wrote: If you want to be remembered, if you want to leave your mark on the world, live in such a way that people say, ‘She lived as if she truly loved, and we loved her in return. She was, simply, beloved.’”

This fundraising effort is being led by his two fave professors who helped him on his journey to becoming an incredibly talented writer: Wendy Moffat and Susan Perabo, his dear friend Amanda Choutka, and myself.
