So you think you had a rough day?
My niece Erin, has been having a rough two years and counting. Erin was diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer in March 2019 at the age of 33. She started with the traditional (horrible) Chemo and Radiation and then did some invasive “Radical Radiation” to help.
In April 2020, she was told the cancer was still there and had a very radical surgery, removing most of her insides (you name it, it is probably gone) with a complication-filled recovery. Erin was told in October 2020 the cancer had returned and her best option was clinical trials.
In December 2020, she took a trip to Houston and met with doctors at MD Anderson to discuss clinical trials and they admitted her because of her decreased kidney function. (They had removed most of her bladder in the surgery in April 2020 and it was causing trouble) Erin had to have another surgery, while there, to have a tube put in each of her kidneys to drain out of her back. Erin was not able to meet with the doctors about clinical trials because of the Christmas Holiday and returned home not eligible for a trial.
Erin had a meeting with Mayo Clinic a few weeks ago and they recommended doing some more chemo to shrink the cancer to possibly make the clinical trials more successful.
One of the things she still has left inside her is her heart and she has a heart of gold and her courage is like no other. Erin is not giving up! She started chemo last week.
We need your help! Erin has never asked for any help (other than from her family), but she could really use some help.
The company that she works for has been amazing and very supportive. But everything ($) is going towards her medical bills. She is now on year 3 of having to start paying her medical deductible. And to top it off, her roof is leaking, and she needs a new one. Even though that is the least of her problems, it is still a huge burden financially, not to mention the stress for her to think about.
So I am trying to raise money for a new roof for Erin and anything extra to help towards her medical bills. Can you help? Any amount will help and let’s not forgot about prayers, we need lots of prayers for Erin too!
Thank you!!
