Hi there! My names Yasmin Ghazal Jones - I, like many of you have been horrified by the events that have taken place over the last two years.. baring in mind if you’ve been aware of Israel’s occupation on Palestine with western backing has been an ongoing horror for over 100 years.

Now, we are seeing the ongoing genocide in HD and I have teamed up with some great people to help raise awareness of Israel’s war crimes and crimes against humanity as well as raising funds to send directly to the hands of Palestinians trapped in Gaza. We will also be supporting Doctors Without Borders who are on the ground helping those in need whilst suffering themselves.

On Sunday, September 28, 2025, The Giraffe Shed will open its doors for A Thousand Paper Birds—a powerful community gathering and art installation in solidarity with the people of Gaza.

We are inviting people of all ages to fold and send paper birds, each one symbolising a Palestinian life lost in Israel’s ongoingi genocide. These birds will be suspended in a large-scale public exhibition, transforming grief, rage, and love into a shared act of remembrance and resistance.

While the installation will stand as a memorial, this fundraiser is not for the event itself. Every penny donated here will go directly to Palestinian families in Gaza who are living through displacement, destruction, and unimaginable loss. Funds will help provide essentials like food, clean water, medical care, and emergency shelter.

Why this matters:

• Over 50,000 Palestinian children have been killed by Israel’s violence.

• Entire neighbourhoods have been destroyed, leaving families homeless and struggling to survive.

• Access to food, medicine, and clean water is critically limited due to the ongoing siege.
