Antonio has faced more hardships in one lifetime than most people could imagine. His journey has been a long fight for survival, strength, and hope.
In 2006, Antonio was in a devastating car accident with his brothers. He spent four months in a coma and suffered a broken back. Doctors told him he would never walk again. But his family refused to give up on him. Through years of dedication, therapy, and faith, Antonio defied the odds — he walked again.
Determined to build a future for himself and help others, Antonio pushed forward and graduated from nursing school in 2017. It was one of the proudest moments of his life. But shortly after, he was diagnosed with diabetes, and the disease progressed aggressively. While fighting to control his blood sugar, he began noticing problems with his vision. The diabetes had reached his eyes, and he was slowly going blind.
Despite surgeries, medication, lifestyle changes, and countless appointments, his vision continued to deteriorate. By 2018, Antonio had lost so much sight that he was placed on disability. His case worker tried to help him find work in his nursing field, but his vision loss made it impossible.
In 2020, Antonio began to go into renal failure — something tragically familiar to his family, as his father had already been battling the same condition for six years. With both Antonio and his father requiring dialysis and constant medical care, his mother had no choice but to quit her job to care for them full time.
Then, in 2022, Antonio suffered a stroke at home. While hospitalized, he suffered another, leaving him with significant damage and loss of mobility on his left side. Still, he continued fighting.
In August 2025, Antonio faced one of the hardest losses of his life — his father passed away from the same illnesses Antonio continues to battle. Grieving and overwhelmed, the family still holds onto hope that Antonio’s life can improve.
Today, they finally have an opportunity to give him a chance at a better future. But they cannot do it alone.
Antonio has a surgery opportunity that could significantly improve his quality of life — but the cost is far beyond what the family can manage after years of medical hardship, caregiving, and loss. They are asking for help from anyone with the kindness and ability to support his journey.
Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward Antonio’s surgery and recovery. Your generosity will not only help him medically — it will give him hope, comfort, and a chance at the life he has fought so hard to keep.
Thank you for reading Antonio’s story. Thank you for caring.
