Help My Family Rebuild After Hurricane Melissa

Hi everyone, my name is Renay. I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for support for my family in Jamaica who were directly impacted by Hurricane Melissa. My mother and my sister live together, and the storm has left their home severely damaged.

Half of the roof is gone. Rain poured in and destroyed clothing, furniture, personal items, and everything they’ve worked hard to build over the years. The house that was once their safe space is now exposed and unstable.

My mother is trying to stay strong, but the emotional and financial weight of this is overwhelming. My sister is shaken and scared. They are both devastated and unsure where to begin.

One of my mom’s close friends also lost her entire roof

the community has truly been hit hard.

I’ve been helping as much as I can from here, but repairing a roof and replacing essential belongings in Jamaica is extremely expensive. Right now, we are trying to raise funds to help with:

• Emergency roof repairs

• Basic home repairs and cleanup

• Replacing damaged furniture and clothing

• Food and supplies while they figure out their next steps

I know that times are difficult for many people, so even the smallest contribution means more than you know. And if you can’t donate, a share or even a prayer goes a long way.

My family is safe and for that, we’re grateful. But they have lost so much. I just want to help them get back to a place of stability, comfort, and peace.
