As many of you may know I have been diagnosed with various health issues such as arthritis in my back and numbness in my legs and feet that effect my ability to work.My husband suffered a bad fall on September 24th and was taken to the emergency room.We were told he had a spot on his brain they were concerned about.He was transferred to Savannah and was diagnosed with a type of brain tumor called a vestibular schwannoma. It is a benign tumor that attached to the nerves in your brain that effect balance.He is very unsteady on his feet and is having a hard time performing daily tasks.It has also caused him to lose his hearing in his right ear. It also is causing problems with his ability to taste food. After a lot of tests, we have a surgery date set on December 1st. It will be a long 8 hour surgery, but they are hopeful they will be able to get all of the tumor. He has been put on family medical leave from work and is receiving no pay at this time. We are applying for anything that we can think of, but are running out of options. We are hopeful he will be able to return to work as soon as possible but are told it may be a long recovery.
