Hey y'all, I'm EJ. As some of you know, I had top surgery at the end of last October. While my insurance covered a HUGE chunk of the costs, it did not cover everything. The plan was to get back to work when I was healed, but as we all know 2020 had other plans for us all.
I've been sitting on these past due bills for several months now and am about to start a full-time volunteer position that only pays a living stipend, and know I will not be able to save towards paying off my surgery bills this year.
Getting top surgery was such a blessing and has helped me tremendously with dysphoria and gotten me one step closer to confidently feeling like my true self. But I am burdened by the debt it has bought on.
