EJ Akerblom & Family recovery
Donation protected
Erik & Jan Akerblom's son EJ was hospitalized unexpectedly last week, and after a harrowing few days in the ICU, was ultimately diagnosed with encephalitis. He underwent CT scans, MRI's & spinal taps until Jan was able to get to his side in Alabama, where he is going to college. After many rounds of treatment and strong antibiotics, he was able to stabilize. He was recently released and was able to travel back home.
Now EJ has to recuperate, which can take several weeks. He hopes he can make up for lost school work and won't have to loose this semester.
Many have asked how they can help... This fund will help pay for the medical bills, Jan's travel and stay at the hospital, potential tutors to help EJ catch up on schoolwork (in hopes he doesn't loose his scholarship), etc.
The Akerblom family is very thankful to families of EJ's fellow students who helped admit him to the hospital and stayed by him until Jan arrived. They are also appreciative of the NJ neighbors who delivered meals and supported from home.
Let's wish for a speedy recovery!
